Ingredients:
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp maraschino cherry juice for glaze
- 1/2 tsp almond extract for glaze
Instructions:
Warm up the oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a pan
Put the cake mix, eggs, milk, 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice, and 1 teaspoon almond extract in a mixing bowl
Melt the butter and add the eggs
Mix everything together well
Cut up the maraschino cherries and slice the almonds and add them to the batter
Use two thirds of the batter to fill up each cupcake liner
After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
Mix 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of maraschino cherry juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to make the glaze while the cupcakes are baking
Mix until its smooth
After baking, let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes
Then, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down
Pour the almond and cherry glaze over the cupcakes that have already been cooled
