Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls, split
- 8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until beef is browned and vegetables are tender, breaking up beef with a spoon, about 8 minutes
Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, salt, and pepper
Simmer until mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes
Preheat broiler
Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet, cut side up
Divide beef mixture among rolls and top each with 2 slices of provolone cheese
Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2 minutes
Serve immediately, optionally with additional toppings like sliced jalapeos or pickles, if desired
